The rules and regulations pertaining to most aspects of life differ per country or state. Egg donation legislation is no different. For example egg donation is legal in all but one state in the United States.
Egg donation legislation in South Africa is quite legitimate and enables people some choices and empowerment. Egg donation is governed under the National Health Act of 2003. As with other live tissues, donors may not be seen to profit from an egg donation. Accordingly, it has been decided to set a fixed donation that egg donors will receive for such a deed. This is viewed as an amount to compensate for expenses incurred in actually getting to the egg donation clinic and for the inconvenience of injecting themselves.
Part of the egg donor legislation is that egg donors remain anonymous and cannot be contacted by egg donation recipients. Full profiles can be made available to egg donation recipients including pictures, but no names. The egg donor profiles available on egg donor databases includes medical background, academic information, personality aspects, of course egg donor physical traits.
baby2mom Egg Donation Agency - www.baby2mom.co.za offers professional egg donation services, full compliance with egg donation legislation, access to an egg donor database of hundreds of egg donors and specialised and unique services to egg donation recipients and egg donors.
